ADMISSION PROCEDURES AND INFORMATION

Thank you for your interest in TCA. It is our desire to establish an educational institution where students may obtain a sound Christ-centered education. We want to be an extension of the Christian home and a ministry to Christian families. Bible classes offer opportunity for students to learn God’s Word and apply it to their lives. We want to provide a quality education that prepares young people for the challenges they will face in life. We pray that God will send families to TCA who desire a thoroughly Christian education for their children.

Students entering kindergarten should be five years of age on or before October 1st of the enrollment year. Exceptions to this will be rare and must have administrative approval.

All students who seek to transfer to TCA must be considered in good standing status at their former school before they can be admitted as TCA students.

Admission Procedures

Application Form: Complete the enclosed form and return to the office. Each student enrolling must have an Application Form in their file. Applications are approved and students accepted in the order in which they are received depending on available space as well as other exceptions. Therefore, promptness in completing the Application Form is important. Along with the application form, each student must submit a copy of his/her official birth certificate and social security card.

Administrator Interview: Upon receiving your application and the availability of space, the office will arrange your interview with a school administrator. Former school records, immunization and health records, and current test results should be brought if available at this time. Student and parent should attend this interview unless otherwise specified.

Health Records: An immunization and health record must be submitted to the school office before the student is officially registered. Your doctor has the necessary form required by the Department of Health of the State of Tennessee. This form must be the original as well as signed by the student’s physician.

Screening: All students applying to Tennessee Christian Academy must complete a grade appropriate screening. Parents must set up a time with the principal for this part of the application process. After which, an interview will be held between the parents and the principal to discuss student’s strengths and weaknesses.

Acceptance Committee: Once a completed application is on file with the office, an acceptance committee will meet to discuss eligibility for the student who is being considered for entrance into the academy. Parents will be informed in writing of a student’s acceptance or non-acceptance.

Enrollment/tuition Payment: When a student has received their acceptance letter, enrollment fee must be paid in order to secure that student’s spot. The enrollment and tuition schedule for the current year is provided in the application packet. Please examine this document carefully.
