Welcome to Kindergarten with
Mrs. Suits
Mrs. Morgan
Mrs. Hope
A child’s Kindergarten year is one of the most important in his/her life. It is a year of learning to care, share, grow, and dream. Here at TCA, we feel that our program excels in three very important ways.
First of all, the students are given the freedom to discuss God and all of His wonderful creation. Bible stories are taught emphasizing Biblical principles. The students are required to memorize scripture and be tested on it week to week. This not only feeds their souls but boost their minds for the retention of upcoming skills. God’s world is unique and wondrous and we feel our students should be exposed to all it has to offer. For example, the students gain a peek into the world through their study of Social Studies. The students learn about different countries and their cultures. In Science, a study of the nature in which God created is learned. Even the logical principles of math are related to a God ordered world. God’s wondrousness is taught throughout all subject matter.
Second of all, the students are given the opportunity to gain a love of learning. We, at TCA, wish to give our students the gift of learning, but to also teach them the art of learning. It only takes moments to enforce this ideal into a child’s spirit. The old philosophy of giving a man a fish feeds him for a day, but to teach him how to fish feeds him for a lifetime. Our goal is to teach our students how to feed themselves for a lifetime of learning.
Third, the kindergarten students are prepared to enter the world of 1 st grade. The kindergarten year is one of the largest growth periods in a child’s life, intellectually as well as physically. Here at TCA, we do not want to forgo teaching a kindergarten student a skill because others feel they are too young. We respect this rapid growth period in a child’s life and wish to take advantage of the growth. This is the very reason our students engage in Spanish classes, and why our students are taught to read in Kindergarten. The students do not fill time by learning a letter of the alphabet a week but rather explode in learning by breaking into reading circles by November so that those ready can grow and develop.
Thank you for taking time to visit our Kindergarten webpage. We look forward to engaging your child in learning in a way he, she, nor you could have ever thought!
